About Ed Parks (He/Him)

Hello! I’m Edward Parks. For more than 20 years I have worked in public mental health clinics and hospitals, and now, with LifeStance, I work with nearly every issue from social anxiety to schizophrenia. I have learned to adjust my therapy style to my client’s changing needs, rather than applying a regimented school of treatment.

For over a decade, I have paired with those struggling with anxiety, thought and mood disorders; re-orienting them to reality and building their skill sets. I am also dedicated to helping adults recover from childhood trauma and abuse and have developed a treatment system especially for this adult population. I have completed certification in treating personality disorders, and have provided clinical supervision for more than 10 years.

My schedule is M-F, 8-5 most days. I provide in-person and telehealth therapy every day, but only telehealth on Fridays. I see individual adults (18+, unless already finished HS) I look forward to hearing from you. (NOTE: I am Catholic, and can incorporate Catholic / Christian concepts into therapy by request.)

Mr. Parks is the perfect counselor for these last years of my life. He specializes in PTSD which I have struggled witth (& received thearapy for) for the past 58 years. He is helping me resolve issues that have held me back for decades; I WANT/NEED to resolve these issues as I prepare for death. He is helping me to make the right decisions that the anxiety & brainfog of PTSD have prevented me from making. I have even discovered deep seated issues that I have deeply buried despite decades of therapy. I think God has placed Edward Parks in my life to prepare me for a more peaceful death than I would otherwise know. "Edward" (which is the same name as my ex husband) means "Happy Protector." He is certainly performing that role for me: protecting me from myself and my own worst thought patterns. I thank God for Mr. Parks every day.

Dr Mary Porter is and has been my doctor of choice for the last six plus years since my wife and I moved now into this area! I drive over to her office in Savannah GA from Bluffton SC because she is that good and I would strongly recommend her to one and all!

Things have improved from last year. I can now make a call directly to the office here in Savannah instead of somewhere out of the area.
