About Megan Kirkpatrick (She/Her)
Megan Kirkpatrick, LCSW, helps teens, adults, and older adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a practical approach to lasting change. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for patients throughout Illinois, supporting those who are struggling with concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Megan creates a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop meaningful strategies for emotional wellness and personal growth. Megan is especially passionate about helping individuals facing ADHD, women’s issues, and major life transitions. She understands that challenges related to attention, organization, identity, relationships, and changing life circumstances can affect every aspect of daily functioning. Whether a client is navigating adolescence, adjusting to midlife changes, managing reproductive challenges, or coping with later-life transitions, Megan works collaboratively to help them gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward their goals with confidence. Her therapeutic style is thoughtful, individualized, and evidence-based. Megan incorporates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while drawing from additional interventions when appropriate. She also works with clients experiencing bipolar disorder, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), hoarding behaviors, postpartum depression and anxiety, school avoidance, and other mental health concerns. Megan believes that meaningful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and authenticity. She tailors treatment to each person’s unique needs, helping clients better understand their emotions, improve coping skills, and create positive change in their lives. Outside of her clinical work, Megan enjoys drawing and painting, watching movies and television, and exploring thrift stores and antique shops. These creative interests help her appreciate the value of self-expression, curiosity, and finding beauty in unexpected places. Megan earned her education from Lewis University and Saint Xavier University and is committed to providing high-quality mental health care for individuals across Illinois.
