Joshua Della Villa, LPC
At the core of my practice is a belief in the inherent resilience and capacity for change within every individual. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on a range of evidence-based practices to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or life transitions, I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I have developed a particular expertise in the following areas:
Anxiety and Depression: Utilizing techniques from CBT and DBT, I help patients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. · Men’s Issues: I specialize in addressing men’s issues in psychotherapy, focusing on the unique challenges and pressures that men often face. · Panic Disorder: I provide psychoeducation and skills training to promote emotional and physical regulation and work with the individual to address the underlying issues for long-term and lasting results.
Relationship Counseling: I offer support for couples, focusing on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering deeper connections.
Life Transitions: Whether you are facing career changes, grief, or other significant life events, I provide guidance and support to help you navigate these transitions with confidence and clarity.
LGBTQ+ Issues: It is difficult to be marginalized and to find a therapist that truly gets it. I provide a space for you to feel safe and understood. Understanding that no two individuals are the same, I emphasize a collaborative approach to therapy. From our first session, I work closely with you to identify your specific needs and goals, developing a customized treatment plan that evolves as you progress. My aim is to empower you with the tools and insights necessary to make meaningful and lasting changes in your life. I am deeply committed to creating an environment where you feel seen, heard, and valued. My practice is inclusive and respectful of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. I believe that therapy should be a space where you can express yourself freely and work towards healing without fear of judgment or discrimination. I lived in China for five years, where I immersed myself in the culture and learned Mandarin at Wuhan University. This enriching experience broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for different cultures. Before entering the field of psychotherapy, I spent five years at Uber Technologies as a People and Operations Manager. There, I honed my skills in leadership, team management, and operational efficiency.
Outside of my professional life, I have a wide range of interests. I love staying active through biking, hiking, and running marathons. I also enjoy attending music festivals, exploring new restaurants, and cooking. Nature is my sanctuary, and I find peace in camping and spending time outdoors. These activities not only enrich my life but also inform my holistic approach to therapy. Taking the first step towards therapy can be daunting, but it is also a courageous and empowering decision. I invite you to reach out and schedule an initial consultation to discuss how we can work together towards your mental and emotional well-being. Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or looking to enhance your overall quality of life, I am here to guide and support you on your journey. Thank you for considering me as your psychotherapist. I look forward to the possibility of working with you and supporting
