Rachel EtsHokin, LCPC, helps teens, adults, and older adults throughout Illinois navigate life’s challenges with warmth, clinical expertise, and a deeply collaborative approach to therapy. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy tailored to each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Rachel frequently works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, helping them build resilience, gain insight, and create meaningful change. She also supports a wide range of additional mental health concerns and life transitions. Rachel is especially passionate about helping individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that the transition from a higher level of care back into everyday life can be both hopeful and challenging. Through compassionate, structured support, she helps clients maintain momentum in their recovery, strengthen coping skills, navigate obstacles, and build a sustainable path toward emotional stability and wellness. Her goal is to provide a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they move forward. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rachel works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and develop practical tools for lasting growth. She also incorporates a harm-reduction approach when supporting individuals with substance use concerns. Rachel has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and first responders, recognizing the unique challenges and strengths these populations may bring to treatment. Rachel believes that effective therapy balances clinical knowledge with genuine human connection. She strives to create an environment where clients feel safe discussing difficult emotions, exploring personal values, and developing healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. She earned her education from the University of Arizona and DePaul University, providing a strong academic foundation for her counseling practice. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies. These interests help her stay connected to the relationships, stories, and experiences that enrich everyday life.
