Originally from Northwest Indiana, Meghan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Indiana University Bloomington) and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) (Indiana University Northwest).Over the last 12 years, Meghan has collaborated with a diverse clientele of all ages in child welfare, adoptions, therapeutic foster care, schools, parenting psychoeducation, teen groups, and clinical settings. Focusing on strengths, resilience, empowerment and an Integrative Mental Health approach, Meghan hopes to foster intrinsic motivation for personal growth and positive change for mind, body, and soul. Meeting clients where they are at, she hopes for you to be comforted by her empathetic nature, sense of humor, authenticity, and kindness. Additionally, she practices with an emphasis on psychoeducation that draws from neuroscience and systems theory to help clients understand the biological and systemic underpinnings of their behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. Meghan also has experience in, and believes, a person-centered approach that can draw from a range of evidence-based practices, including but not limited to, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), components of Synergetic Play and Art Therapies, movement and mindfulness based, can be vital for long-lasting growth, self-compassion, and change. Meghan can help clients work through Anxiety, Depression, PTSD/C-PTSD, suicidal ideation/self-harm, shame, grief, self-esteem, Women’s Issues, attachment/childhood trauma, and social-emotional skills. When not at work, she enjoys exercising through running and hot yoga practices, spending time with her loved ones, engaging in intellectually stimulating experiences and conversations, attending live music shows and taking peaceful walks in nature with her loyal canine companion who has been by her side through her entire social work journey so far! Meghan also makes it a point to listen to her mind, body, and soul when in need of rest by engaging in a quick, guided meditation reset, or practicing grounding techniques in nature.
