Sarah Long, MSW,
About Sarah Long (She/Her)
Sarah Long helps teens, adults, and older adults build practical skills to navigate life’s challenges, strengthen emotional well-being, and move toward meaningful change. Through LifeStance Health, she provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families across Illinois, offering compassionate, evidence-based care for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. Sarah creates a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make progress at their own pace. Sarah is particularly passionate about helping individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns. She understands how these experiences can affect relationships, daily functioning, self-confidence, and overall quality of life. Her approach focuses on helping clients identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, develop healthier coping strategies, and build resilience as they work toward their personal goals. She is committed to tailoring treatment to each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs. In her work with adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults, Sarah also supports individuals experiencing ADHD, grief, life transitions, and a range of other emotional and behavioral health concerns. She recognizes that every stage of life brings unique opportunities and challenges, and she strives to help clients navigate those experiences with greater clarity and confidence. Sarah utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques, while offering additional therapeutic approaches when clinically appropriate. Sarah earned her education from the University of Illinois Chicago and brings a thoughtful, client-centered perspective to her work as a social worker. She values creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration, believing that meaningful healing often begins when clients feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions and experiences. Outside of her clinical practice, Sarah enjoys reading everything from fantasy novels to nonfiction history and loves traveling, often bringing home small souvenirs that capture memories from her journeys. She is deeply passionate about the mental health field and considers it a privilege to accompany clients through the transformative process of therapy.
