About Shelley Coughlin (She/Her)

Shelley Coughlin, LSCSW, is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassionate, evidence-based care. Serving patients in Kansas, Shelley provides individual therapy for adolescents, teens, and adults of all ages. Whether someone is facing anxiety, depression, or navigating complex life transitions, Shelley creates a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and develop effective coping strategies.

Shelley is particularly passionate about supporting women’s mental health. She works extensively with women navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, reproductive challenges, and midlife transitions. Shelley understands the unique pressures and emotional hurdles that come with motherhood, caregiving, and personal reinvention. Her goal is to empower women to reclaim their sense of identity, build resilience, and improve emotional well-being during every stage of life.

In addition to women’s issues, Shelley specializes in treating anxiety, PTSD and trauma, and grief and loss. She uses a personalized, integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and faith-based counseling when requested. Shelley also offers interventions like CBT for Insomnia and parenting support, helping individuals and families improve their quality of life and relationships. As a clinician, she is especially committed to supporting those with a history of adoption or foster care, recognizing the lasting emotional impact these experiences can carry.

Outside of her work, Shelley enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her four young children. Her personal experiences as a mother deeply inform her clinical insight and passion for helping moms find balance and hope amid life’s demands.

My therapist books all my sessions at the end of our session. Super smooth and easy. It also has been easy enough to reschedule in the past when I’ve needed to make changes.
