Karin Klein, Therapist

Karin Klein, MEd, LPCC, CPFT

Karin Klein helps adults and older adults throughout Kentucky overcome complex mental health challenges and build lives that feel more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling. At LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy in a supportive, collaborative environment where patients can safely explore their concerns and develop effective tools for lasting change. Her approach combines compassion with evidence-based treatment, empowering individuals to move forward with greater confidence and emotional resilience.

Karin is particularly passionate about treating Borderline Personality Disorder and severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She recognizes the profound impact these conditions can have on relationships, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and everyday functioning. Through specialized, structured treatment, she helps patients better understand their symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and create sustainable pathways toward recovery and improved quality of life.

Her clinical expertise includes treating anxiety, PTSD and trauma-related concerns, and OCD, while also helping individuals navigate depression, grief, life transitions, women’s mental health concerns, and other behavioral health challenges. Karin utilizes evidence-based interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while incorporating additional therapeutic approaches when appropriate. She also provides Psychological Testing as part of her comprehensive mental health services.

Karin has extensive experience supporting individuals facing particularly challenging circumstances, including those recently discharged from psychiatric hospitalization, participating in court-ordered treatment, navigating parental custody disputes, or managing current legal matters. She understands the unique stressors these situations can create and works to provide a structured, nonjudgmental environment where patients can focus on healing, growth, and stability.

In addition, she has experience working with diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, military service members and veterans, individuals with autism spectrum disorders, and first responders. She is committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine understanding.

Since beginning her clinical practice in 2011, Karin has dedicated her career to helping individuals achieve meaningful and lasting emotional wellness. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys dancing, performing arts, teaching fitness classes, crafting, watching documentaries, playing the piano, and relaxing by the pool. Her lifelong appreciation for creativity and movement reflects her belief in the importance of self-expression and personal growth.
