Abigail Nemec, LCSW, helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults build emotional stability, practical coping skills, and a clearer path forward when life feels overwhelming. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy to patients across Kentucky, offering a supportive and structured space for those navigating anxiety, mood concerns, and developmental or life transitions.

Ms. Nemec is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands the vulnerability that often follows hospitalization and focuses on helping patients reestablish safety, routine, and confidence while strengthening coping strategies that support long-term stability and independence.

Her clinical work commonly addresses anxiety, depression, and ADHD, with additional experience supporting trauma-related concerns and stress connected to major life changes. She treats children and adolescents, including school-aged children and teens, as well as adults. Ms. Nemec has experience working with individuals involved in adoption or foster care, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and military members or veterans, while offering additional areas of focus to meet each patient’s unique needs. She also integrates principles of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics as part of her developmentally informed approach.

Ms. Nemec uses evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help patients develop emotional regulation skills, healthier thought patterns, and meaningful behavior change. Treatment is tailored to each individual’s age, goals, and lived experience.

Outside of her clinical work, Ms. Nemec enjoys reading, spending time in nature, playing cards, creating art, and traveling, which help her maintain balance and creativity in both her personal and professional life.
