Summer Johnson helps adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults across Massachusetts navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, addiction recovery, and identity-related concerns with compassionate, affirming, and evidence-based mental health care. At LifeStance Health, they provide both individual and group therapy, creating a supportive therapeutic space where patients can build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and work toward lasting emotional wellness.

Summer specializes in addictions, mood disorders, and the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. They understand that experiences related to identity, relationships, trauma, stigma, and mental health can deeply affect daily life, self-esteem, and overall wellbeing. Summer works collaboratively with patients to foster self-understanding, emotional growth, and meaningful change while helping individuals feel seen, respected, and supported throughout the therapeutic process. In addition to these areas of focus, they also provide care for anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, and challenges related to sleep and major life transitions.

Their therapeutic style is flexible, inclusive, and grounded in practical skill-building. Summer incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also integrating mindfulness-based techniques and additional evidence-based approaches tailored to each patient’s goals. They have experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, military veterans, and patients navigating complex emotional or behavioral health concerns across different stages of life.

Summer believes therapy should provide both emotional safety and practical tools for growth. They strive to help patients better understand their patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and reconnect with values that support a healthier and more fulfilling life.

They earned their education from The Catholic University of America and the University of New Hampshire. Since beginning clinical practice in 2018, Summer has remained committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care rooted in empathy and authenticity.

Outside of their clinical work, Summer enjoys fencing, creating art, writing, spending time with their dogs, and exploring nature. Their creativity and appreciation for connection and self-expression help shape the grounded and compassionate presence they bring into therapy sessions.

Summer serves patients throughout Massachusetts through LifeStance Health.
