Jack Crowley, MS, NCC, LCPC
Specializes In:
Jack Crowley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than a decade of experience serving a diverse population of community clients. He is a “nuts and bolts” psychotherapist, who employs an eclectic, evidence-based theoretical approach toward counseling that employs reality therapy and choice theory, augmented with psychodynamic theory, existential philosophy, and pastoral counseling. Jack also incorporates adjunctive, relevant human evolutionary, social, and behavioral sciences. As a quintessential reality therapist, his way of being with clients is: (a) honest, (b) direct, (c) practical, (d) “coach-like,” (e) dynamic, (f) casual, and (g) results-driven. His way of believing in psychotherapy is for clients to attempt to “let go of who they became,” due to past external factors and worldly influences, and “become who they always were” at an innately soulful level. Once realized, Jack collaborates with clients to reconcile their interactions with themselves, others, and life to pursue achievable needs and wants, given the confines of reality. Reality therapy is ideally suited to clients who seek a non-traditional, no-nonsense psychotherapeutic approach that may produce expedient, meaningful, and sustainable treatment outcomes. Empirically based studies report reality therapy is efficacious for individual, family, and couples counseling; and, to treat problems with mood, behavior, relationships, career, academics, addiction, and more. Jack earned a Master’s of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Maryland. He is a former U.S. Army Green Beret and combat veteran in The War on Terror. Jack is an avid mountain biker.
