Kayla Mangen, LCPC, helps individuals across Maryland navigate life’s challenges with clarity, resilience, and evidence-based care. She provides compassionate, individualized therapy for teens and adults, supporting concerns such as anxiety, trauma, and substance use. Kayla creates a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where patients can build insight, learn practical coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change. Kayla has a strong focus on helping those experiencing anxiety disorders, PTSD/trauma, and alcohol and drug use issues. She collaborates closely with each patient to understand the root causes of distress and to develop realistic, personalized treatment plans. Her work is especially attentive to the needs of teens and adults navigating life transitions, emotional regulation, and recovery. She is particularly passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals and offers gender-affirmative care, including gender-affirmative medical readiness evaluations. Kayla is also experienced in supporting first responders and individuals on the autism spectrum, while offering additional support for a wide range of mental health concerns. Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and affirming, strengths-based interventions to help patients develop healthier thought patterns and coping skills. She also offers additional therapeutic modalities to meet each patient’s unique needs and goals. Kayla earned her education from Walden University, Johns Hopkins University, and St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and has been in practice since 2012. Outside of her clinical work, Kayla enjoys reading, crocheting, attending tai chi classes, watching YouTube, and playing video games—embracing a variety of creative and “nerdy” hobbies that help her stay balanced and engaged.
