Amanda Sexton is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maine who has been practicing since 2021. She has a BS in Psychology, an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is currently a doctoral candidate in counseling education and supervision with her dissertation focus being on counselor education regarding resources for LGBTQ+ clients facing family and religion system support loss. Amanda’s ideal client is someone that is willing to work towards improving themselves and their situation. Therapy is a partnership between the therapist and the patient and will only benefit the client if they are willing to put in the work. Amanda loves all types of mental health; she enjoys the challenge and reward of working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and many other types of mental health. Amanda approaches therapy as an individual case, no two cases are alike just as no two people are alike. Amanda believes that therapy is what the client needs and tries to take that approach while working with the client on tasks/assignments that can help them to be the best version of themselves. In her free time, Amanda enjoys loves camping, hiking, and spending time outside.
