William Lagasse, Therapist

William Lagasse, MSW, LCSW

Bill Lagasse is a Clinical Social Worker with a 22 year history in social services working in some of Maine’s top organizations and has provided care and direction to the homeless, the drug or alcohol addicted, those with trauma & identity related disorders, the LGBTQ, couples, and those struggling with mental health related issues. Bill treats adults and couples. Bill has extensive training and practice using CBT, having been formally trained by the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Bill is also comfortable using a Strengths Based Perspective, Empowerment Model, Motivational Interviewing, and general counseling for the worried well. Bill’s philosophy and approach is that therapy is enhanced when we focus on client thinking while simultaneously focusing on the client’s quality of life (socialization, recreation and hobby). Working in tandem, it is Bill’s belief that clients naturally begin feeling better when there is purpose and meaning behind their choices. When not working, Bill enjoys traveling, cooking, music, and spending time with his family. Bill received his MSW from the University of New England in Maine and is pursuing his PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Creative & Ethical Leadership from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
