Sande has over 20 years in mental health. She received her BSW from Eastern Michigan University, studied at University of Brighton in England, UK. She received her MSW from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

She has worked inpatient and Intensive Outpatient at Brighton Hospital and Oakdale Recovery both with dual diagnoses.
