About Edward Collins (He/Him)
Ed Collins, LPC
At every stage of his career, one constant has remained: a genuine interest in people and what helps them thrive. That journey has taken Ed from the factory floor to the executive office, into the public schools, and ultimately into private practice, giving him a rare perspective on the challenges people face both at work and at home.
Ed began his professional life at age 17 with the Ford Motor Company, where he learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. By the age of 25, he had entered big box retail management, leading large teams, mentoring employees, solving complex personnel issues, and experiencing firsthand the demands placed on leaders who are expected to balance business goals with the well-being of the people they supervise.
Those experiences sparked a deeper calling. Ed pursued counseling and spent years serving in public education, helping students and families navigate academic pressures, emotional struggles, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life’s many transitions. Today, he brings that same commitment to his private practice, where he specializes in working with adults, particularly professionals in healthcare, education, business, government, public safety, and other high-responsibility careers.
Having worked both on the front lines and in leadership, Ed understands workplace stress from personal experience. He knows what it feels like to carry responsibility for others while trying to balance career, marriage, family, finances, health, and the countless demands that modern life places on successful people.
Beyond his professional life, Ed is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He believes that the greatest lessons in life often come through relationships, adversity, curiosity, and service to others.
When he isn’t meeting with clients, Ed enjoys gardening, reading, writing, exploring history, foraging, and continually learning about psychology, leadership, and the natural world. A lifelong student, he has authored several books and believes that wisdom comes from remaining curious throughout life.
Clients describe Ed as approachable, thoughtful, practical, and authentic. Rather than offering textbook answers, he combines professional knowledge with decades of real-world experience to help clients discover practical solutions that fit their unique lives.
Ed’s philosophy is simple: every person has a story worth understanding, strengths worth discovering, and the capacity to build a life of greater peace, purpose, and fulfillment. His role is to walk alongside that journey with compassion, respect, and hope.
