Hello and welcome! I received my Master of Arts in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey and have trauma certifications. My experience includes both individual and group treatment. I started my clinical experience providing in-home services with children and families then spent the past five years providing partial care services to individuals (18+) whose lives have been disrupted by a severe and persistent mental illness or who have had a psychiatric hospitalization, allowing me the opportunity to work with a wide range of disorders and clients. It takes courage to seek a happier, more fulfilling life and to take the first steps towards change. I am eager to assist you as you become more empowered and self aware, live more open and less afraid, become a better communicator, to identify and utilize effective coping skills, improve your self-esteem, set boundaries, and improve relationships. I would like you to feel comfortable as I create a safe, accepting environment for you to open up and discuss your concerns. I am holistically driven and believe in a body, mind, and spirit approach to helping you be your best self. I would describe my theoretical approach as integrative and eclectic pulling most heavily from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a Rogerian person centered approach. When working with clients I believe in meeting the client where they are atÂť. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs. I will be your supporter, your advocate, your encourager and your teammate. I believe that real change can start in the therapy session, but you make the change happen in your everyday life. Mental Health is a journey, and while you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. The morning will come again because no darkness and no season is eternal. About me: When I am not counseling I am with my family and friends or hiking with my dog or playing with my cat. I enjoy cooking and watching foreign language movies and TV shows. My goal is to learn a new language and be able to travel. Clinical services in New Jersey are provided by New Jersey Behavioral Health PLLC.
