Helping teens, adults, and older adults across New York navigate emotional challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions, Alysha Memmelaar provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy through LifeStance Health. She offers individual therapy and couples therapy for individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting clients with a variety of additional mental health needs. Alysha is committed to creating a supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to make meaningful changes in their lives. Alysha believes that therapy should be a collaborative process tailored to each person’s goals, strengths, and experiences. She works with clients who may be struggling with stress, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, or major life changes. By helping clients gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, she supports them in developing healthier coping strategies and building resilience that extends beyond the therapy session. Drawing from interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Alysha creates individualized treatment plans designed to promote growth and lasting progress. She has experience treating concerns including ADHD, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, while also supporting clients facing additional mental health challenges. Alysha works with diverse populations, including first responders and members of the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing the unique experiences and stressors that can influence mental and emotional well-being.
In her work with couples, Alysha helps partners improve communication, navigate conflict, strengthen emotional connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. She understands that relationship challenges can have a significant impact on overall mental health and works collaboratively with couples to foster greater understanding and support within their relationships. Alysha earned degrees from Hunter College, Mount Saint Mary College, and Orange County Community College. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2018, she has remained dedicated to providing thoughtful, client-centered care that balances clinical expertise with genuine compassion. Outside of her professional role, Alysha enjoys reading, working out, swimming, discovering new music, and exploring new coffee shops as a self-described coffee enthusiast. These interests reflect her appreciation for wellness, lifelong learning, and maintaining balance in daily life.
