Dr Giesel is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Chemical Dependency Counselor Clinical Supervisor . She is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in the Department of Pediatrics and holder of The Kimberly Vehovec Chair in Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer. She completed her Post- Doctoral Training at University Hospitals and Seidman Cancer Center specializing in Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Hematology and Oncology. She has lead the effort in Physician Wellness by initiating a curriculum-based program to address burnout in front-line workers. Dr Giesel is dual boarded in the treatment of pediatric and adult clients. She is certified in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing as well as a Certified Trauma Treatment Professional. Dr Giesel is trained in EMDR and Biofeedback and Palliative/ End of Life care. Additional clinical areas of concentration and training include: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Burnout in Frontline Workers, anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, chronic illness and pain as well as adjustment related concerns. She is a member of the Early Career Psychologist Committee for the State of Ohio and serves on the editorial board as a journal article reviewer for the Journal of Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology. Additionally, Dr Giesel is a member of the Adolescent and Young Adult Program Advisory Committe with Teen Cancer America and The International Psychology Program as a Committe Member. Dr Giesel has several peer reviewed publications in her specific areas of interest.

Dr Giesel is currently accepting new clients for individual psychotherapy and is co-facilitator for two of Lifestance’s Intensive Outpatient Group Therapy Programs offering rolling admission.
