About Cody McCowan (He/Him)

Cody McCowan, LPCC, helps adolescents, teens, and adults develop practical skills to manage life’s challenges and create meaningful, lasting change. He provides individual therapy through LifeStance Health for patients across Ohio, offering a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered.

Cody specializes in anxiety, ADHD, and depression, and also works with individuals navigating emotional distress related to trauma, grief, and major life transitions. He treats adolescents and teens as well as adults, tailoring care to each stage of life while helping clients strengthen coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and restore balance in daily functioning.

At the heart of Cody’s work is a deep belief in each person’s resilience, especially during times when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. He is passionate about helping clients identify strengths, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and take realistic, goal-oriented steps forward. Therapy with Cody is focused on the whole person—not just symptoms—supporting growth, insight, and long-term emotional wellness.

Cody utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He also incorporates additional therapeutic techniques as appropriate to ensure treatment is responsive to each client’s unique needs. He has experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals, military members and veterans, and men seeking support with emotional health and personal development.

He earned his graduate education at Wright State University and has been in clinical practice since 2018. Outside of therapy, Cody enjoys spending time with his two sons, playing games, reading and writing, listening to and playing music, golfing, watching football, and relaxing with movies and musicals—often with a healthy dose of Bluey.
