Specializes In:
Mary Colby helps adults and seniors throughout Ohio navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a personalized approach to care. Through LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and other emotional concerns that can impact daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Mary works collaboratively with each patient to create a supportive therapeutic environment where healing, growth, and resilience can flourish.
Mary has a particular passion for supporting individuals exploring gender identity and those seeking affirming mental health care. She is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful space where patients can safely explore their experiences, strengthen self-understanding, and work toward living authentically. Her experience includes conducting Gender-Affirmative Medical Readiness Evaluations and helping individuals navigate the emotional, social, and personal aspects of gender-related concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
In her practice, Mary frequently works with adults facing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. She also provides support for individuals managing bipolar disorder, grief, postpartum depression and anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Her therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. She has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and offers additional support for a wide range of emotional and behavioral health concerns.
Since beginning her clinical practice in 2019, Mary has been dedicated to helping patients build practical skills, increase emotional awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change. She earned her education from Virginia Commonwealth University and Weber State University, where she developed a strong foundation in social work, mental health treatment, and patient-centered care.
Outside of her professional work, Mary enjoys spending time outdoors, whether relaxing at the beach or exploring the mountains. She values quality time with her family and appreciates the beauty and wonder found in America’s national parks. More recently, she has discovered a passion for gardening and birdwatching, interests that continue to inspire curiosity, mindfulness, and connection with nature.
