Kim Bonsky, MSSA, LISW,
About Kim Bonsky (She/Her)
Kim Bonsky helps adults and older adults across Ohio navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a practical approach to healing. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, while also supporting those facing mood disorders, major life transitions, and other mental health concerns. Her goal is to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful progress.
Kim has a particular passion for working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those participating in court-ordered treatment. She understands that these situations can bring unique emotional, social, and practical challenges, and she is committed to helping clients build stability, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with confidence. Through a personalized and nonjudgmental approach, she helps clients develop the tools needed for long-term success and recovery.
Her therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based care and tailored to meet each client’s needs. Kim frequently incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based strategies to help individuals better understand their thoughts, regulate emotions, and achieve their treatment goals. She also has experience supporting adults with ADHD, anxiety disorders, and depression, while offering additional expertise in a broad range of mental health concerns. Kim welcomes individuals with developmental disabilities and strives to create an inclusive, supportive therapeutic experience for every client.
Since beginning her clinical practice in 2020, Kim has remained committed to helping people overcome obstacles and build more fulfilling lives. She earned her education from Case Western Reserve University and Bowling Green State University, where she developed a strong foundation in social work and mental health treatment.
Outside of her professional work, Kim enjoys growing spiritually through reading, prayer, and serving others. She spends time in nature hiking, gardening, birdwatching, and appreciating the beauty of the outdoors. During the winter months, she enjoys cooking, tending to orchids, knitting, and reading.
