About Mary Jane Whiteley (She/Her)
If you are looking for support through life’s challenges, transitions, and emotional struggles, Mary Jane Whiteley at LifeStance Health provides compassionate individual therapy for teens, adults, and older adults throughout Pennsylvania. She works with clients to better understand their experiences, build effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their lives. Mary Jane helps individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and a variety of additional mental health concerns, offering a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Mary Jane has a particular interest in helping individuals navigate early adulthood transitions, co-dependency patterns, and the unique challenges often experienced by Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA). She understands how early family dynamics can influence self-esteem, relationships, boundaries, and emotional well-being throughout life. Through a collaborative and insight-oriented approach, she helps clients develop healthier relationship patterns, strengthen their sense of identity, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience. In addition to these areas of focus, Mary Jane supports clients experiencing grief, PTSD and trauma, and major life transitions, while also treating a broad range of additional mental health concerns. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques. For clients who desire it as part of their treatment, she can also incorporate Christian counseling into the therapeutic process. Her goal is to provide care that honors each client’s unique values, experiences, and goals. Mary Jane is committed to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and respect. She believes meaningful growth occurs when clients feel safe enough to explore challenges honestly while developing practical tools for lasting change. Her approach balances compassion with clinical expertise, helping clients gain insight and make progress at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable. She earned her education from The King’s College and West Chester University, where she developed a strong foundation in counseling and mental health treatment. Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to helping individuals improve their emotional well-being and overall quality of life. Outside of her clinical work, Mary Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, appreciating a beautiful snowfall, and cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers.
