She is a full-time substance abuse counselor by day and works private practice as a part time endeavor. Melissa is committed to helping individuals learn how to change what they can and manage what they can’t. The hardest thing for an individual to do is to know themselves and to change themselves. Her calm and non-judgmental approach provides a safe space for vulnerability, healing, and positive change. It has always been Melissa’s goal just to simply help people and do so in a unbiased, supportive and empathic way. The ability to guide people through their journeys in life and watch them grow as a person is quite profound. Her goal as a counselor is to help people live a fulfilling life that they want to be present for each day. Building off of client strengths, they will embody a mindset that is working for them, rather than against them. She has a passion for helping people reach their full potential and establish improved mental health. Sometimes in our journeys we all need a helping hand to guide us through this world in which we live. Helping clients recognize strengths, overcome obstacles, gain purpose, and create change are just some of the many goals Melissa strives for in helping others achieve. Her mission is to help guide her clients to become confident and self-focused when life becomes challenging. She strives to provide a safe, unbiased/nonjudgmental, honest, and balanced environment for all of her clients.
