About Christine Forte (She/Her)

Christine Forte is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut with over 25 years of experience. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English from Rutgers University and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Work in New York City. She is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

Christine has had the privilege of partnering with people from all walks of life, helping them work through depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, grief, family issues, and everyday stressors while building stronger coping skills. Her background includes medical and psychiatric social work, forensic social work with the largest public defender organization in New York City, foster care/adoption, substance use, community health, and she also brings supervisory and management experience to her work. Although originally from New Jersey, Christine resided in NYC for almost 14 years before moving to Rhode Island in early 2010.

She combines humor with compassion in a safe, non-judgmental space, helping clients who’ve lost their sense of power, safety, or trust rebuild and move forward toward a life worth living. Christine works with adults 18+ and draws on CBT, DBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two spirited tabby cats. Her interests include reading, cross stitching, cooking, gardening, and true crime shows.
