LaShonda Thomas helps teens, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and connection. Serving patients throughout Texas through LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, relationship-focused therapy for individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns. She believes meaningful change begins with feeling understood and supported, and she works collaboratively with each client to create a path toward healing and personal growth. With more than a decade of clinical experience, LaShonda has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, agencies, nonprofit organizations, substance use treatment programs, domestic violence services, private practice, and community-based care. She has developed particular expertise in helping clients strengthen their sense of identity and improve the quality of their relationships. Whether addressing family conflict, parenting concerns, or couple’s issues, she draws from systems-based perspectives to help clients better understand patterns, improve communication, and build healthier connections. LaShonda works with adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults and has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and women across a wide range of life stages. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, PTSD and trauma, and relationship concerns, while also providing support for additional emotional and behavioral challenges. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and family therapy approaches, along with additional evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique goals and circumstances. A cornerstone of LaShonda’s work is her belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful treatment. She creates a welcoming, respectful environment where clients can explore difficult experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Her faith-informed perspective can also be incorporated into treatment when aligned with a client’s values and preferences. LaShonda earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University. She has been practicing since 2014 and remains committed to helping clients achieve greater emotional well-being and healthier relationships. Outside of her clinical work, LaShonda enjoys volunteering, playing basketball, reading, and participating in her church community. She values laughter, connection, and service, and believes that joy and meaningful relationships play an important role in overall wellness.
