Amara Smith, MSW, LCSW,
About Amara Smith (She/Her)
Helping children, teens, and adults build resilience, strengthen relationships, and improve emotional well-being, Amara Smith provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy for patients across Texas through LifeStance Health. She partners with clients to better understand their challenges, identify meaningful goals, and develop practical skills for lasting growth. Amara works with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting individuals through life transitions, relationship difficulties, and personal growth journeys. Amara is particularly passionate about helping children and adolescents navigate behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. She understands the unique pressures that young people and their families face and works collaboratively to create a supportive path forward. Whether addressing childhood behavior issues, school-related concerns, or family dynamics, she helps clients and caregivers build stronger connections, improve communication, and develop healthy coping strategies that promote success both at home and in everyday life. Drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches, Amara tailors treatment to the individual needs of each client. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), while incorporating additional evidence-based interventions when appropriate. Through individual, family, couples, and group therapy services, she helps clients gain insight, develop new skills, and create positive change. Her practice also addresses concerns such as ADHD, alcohol and drug use issues, and relationship challenges, among other areas of focus. Amara believes therapy should be a collaborative experience grounded in trust, respect, and authenticity. She strives to create a welcoming environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences and empowered to move toward their goals. Her approach integrates clinical expertise with genuine empathy, helping patients make meaningful progress at their own pace. She earned degrees from Dominican University and Robert Morris College, bringing a strong educational foundation to her work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Outside of the therapy office, Amara enjoys music, exercise, travel, mentorship, community involvement, spending time outdoors, and pursuing spiritual growth. These interests reflect her belief in lifelong learning, connection, and holistic wellness. Amara is proud to serve individuals and families throughout Texas who are seeking support for mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, trauma recovery, and relationship growth.
