Dayton Olsen, CMHC,
About Dayton Olsen (He/Him)
Dayton Olsen helps teens, adults, and seniors across Utah work through life’s challenges with a practical, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to mental health care. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy for those seeking support with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns. Dayton believes that meaningful change begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals, and he partners with patients to create a path toward improved emotional health and greater quality of life. Dayton has a strong interest in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma. He understands that emotional distress can affect relationships, work, school performance, and overall well-being. His therapeutic style emphasizes creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they develop new skills for managing symptoms and overcoming obstacles. In addition to these areas of focus, he provides treatment for a variety of other mental health concerns, including substance use issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, life transitions, and additional behavioral health needs. Drawing on proven interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dayton tailors treatment to the needs of each individual. He works with teens, adults, and older adults, helping patients build resilience, strengthen coping strategies, and make progress toward lasting change. His approach balances clinical expertise with genuine empathy, allowing patients to address both immediate challenges and long-term goals. Outside of his clinical work, Dayton enjoys hiking, kayaking, travel, reading, thrifting, following professional sports, and spending time with pets. These interests reflect his appreciation for exploration, lifelong learning, and maintaining balance in daily life.
