About Maura Johnson (She/Her)

Maura Johnson helps teens, adults, and older adults throughout Washington navigate life’s challenges with compassionate, evidence-based therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she works with individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression, and trauma, while also addressing a variety of additional mental health concerns. Through a collaborative and empathetic approach, Maura creates a supportive environment where clients can build insight, develop practical coping skills, and move toward meaningful personal growth. A significant focus of Maura’s work is helping individuals through life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting clients experiencing midlife transitions, later life transitions, and women’s mental health concerns, including post-partum depression and anxiety. Whether someone is adjusting to changes in relationships, career, identity, aging, caregiving responsibilities, or major life events, Maura helps clients navigate uncertainty with greater confidence and resilience. She understands that periods of transition can bring both challenges and opportunities for growth and healing. Maura tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. She works with a diverse range of clients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and is committed to providing affirming, inclusive care. Her therapeutic style combines clinical expertise with genuine curiosity and respect for each person’s experiences, values, and goals. Maura earned her degrees from Tulane University and the University of North Florida. Her professional foundation supports a thoughtful, client-centered approach that emphasizes both measurable progress and long-term emotional well-being. Outside of her clinical work, Maura enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, spending time with friends and family, and discovering new coffee shops. These activities help her stay connected to the importance of balance, connection, and self-care, themes she often encourages clients to explore in their own lives.
