Tonya Pray, LMHC,
About Tonya Pray (She/Her)
Tonya Pray helps adults and older adults throughout Washington navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, self-compassion, and resilience. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy in a warm, supportive environment where patients can feel safe, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. Tonya works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, helping them uncover patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building practical tools for emotional wellness and lasting growth. Tonya is particularly passionate about supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders and the complex emotional experiences that often accompany them. She understands that concerns related to food, body image, self-worth, and identity can affect every aspect of life. Through a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach, she helps patients develop healthier relationships with themselves while fostering greater confidence, balance, and self-acceptance. Her work emphasizes healing beneath the surface, addressing underlying emotional needs rather than focusing solely on symptoms. With more than two decades of experience in the mental health field, Tonya takes a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to care. She incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help patients manage emotional distress, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and align their actions with their values. In addition to her primary specialties, she supports individuals navigating midlife transitions, later-life transitions, sleep concerns, and other emotional and behavioral health challenges. She offers additional therapeutic approaches tailored to each person’s unique goals and circumstances. Since beginning her practice in 2002, Tonya has been dedicated to helping people discover their own strengths and capacity for change. She earned her degrees from Chico State University and Antioch University, building a strong clinical foundation for supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health concerns. Outside of her professional work, Tonya enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, reading, and practicing yoga. These activities help her stay grounded and connected to the balance, mindfulness, and personal growth that she encourages in her therapeutic work.
