Karen Vandervort, MA, LPC,
About Karen Vandervort (She/Her)
Karen Vandervort, LPC, helps children, adolescents, teens, and adults across Wisconsin to find clarity, resilience, and hope when facing emotional challenges, life transitions, or overwhelming stress. As a therapist at LifeStance Health, she provides individual and family therapy with a compassionate, strength-based approach. Karen works with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns, helping them develop practical tools to manage symptoms, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful change. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to the unique needs of each patient and family. Karen frequently integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies into treatment. She believes that effective therapy combines evidence-based techniques with genuine human connection. In addition to her primary areas of expertise, she provides support for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, women’s mental health concerns, postpartum depression and anxiety, pain management issues, childhood behavioral concerns, and other emotional and behavioral challenges. Karen values creating a warm, collaborative environment where patients feel safe discussing difficult experiences and empowered to work toward their goals. She enjoys partnering with families to strengthen communication, improve relationships, and support healthy development in children and teens. For patients who wish to incorporate faith into their care, she also offers Christian counseling as part of a personalized treatment experience. Outside of her clinical work, Karen enjoys hiking, camping, painting, baking, running, and weightlifting. She appreciates opportunities to spend time outdoors and values making memories with friends and family.
