Kathleen Phillipson, MS, LMFT
Specializes In:
Kathleen V. Phillipson, LMFT
Kathleen V. Phillipson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin who has been practicing since 2008.
Kathleen draws from personal life experience which helps her to empathize as she works together with client to handle life stressors such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, and relationship difficulties. Kathleen has a special interest in attachment and how early childhood experiences affect later life functioning and the ability to maintain healthy relationships. She is also up to date on research in the field related to brain health and how the incorporation of certain exercises, such as mindfulness practices, can actually alter the way our brain functions, leading to a reduction in anxiety and emotional reactivity. In addition to working with individuals, Kathleen enjoys helping couples and families improve communication and learn new ways of handling conflict while building upon their strengths. Some of the therapies she uses include Cognitive-Behavioral, Emotionally Focused, Solution Focused, and Behavioral Activation. Kathleen is also always open to learning more about something you’ve found helpful in the past so you can build on that success. Her objective is to assist you in reaching your therapeutic goals through a greater sense of personal empowerment, enhanced self-awareness, more fulfilling relationships, and the creation of a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys travel, volunteer work, reading, crafts, and spending time in nature.
