Julia Shaughnessy, MS, LMFT
Specializes In:
Julia Shaughnessy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin who has been practicing since 2020.
Julia offers a flexible approach that can be tailored to almost any client. As a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), her experience is in working with complex family and couples issues including infidelity, behavioral issues, and family dysfunction of all types. Julia has training in several evidence-based modalities which she can integrate into a personalized treatment. She has a kind but forthright style that draws from solution-focused therapy. Julia also has specialized training in EMDR to offer the gold standard in individual trauma treatment. She feels everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives, but everyone’s solution is slightly different. Together, clients and Julia can find not just what works, but what is most effective for each individual client.
Julia spends her free time with her family. They enjoy the outdoors, hiking, canoeing, and camping. They have 2 active dogs and a lazy cat. Keeping up with them is a full-time job in itself. She is a nerd through and through; she loves gaming of all kinds (including board games, tabletop games, role-playing games, and video games), on lazy or rainy days she loves to set up shop on her couch and binge and watch a good drama, historical fiction/fantasy show, or movie. She practices aerial arts on the weekend and works hard to stay fit and active.
