James Zoeller, LSW, helps adolescents, teens, and adults throughout Illinois build practical coping skills, improve emotional resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. As a Social Worker at LifeStance Health, he provides individual therapy in a supportive and collaborative environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their mental health journey. James works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting patients through grief, school avoidance, and difficult life transitions. James is especially passionate about working with individuals who have recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital and are transitioning back into daily life. He understands that this period can feel overwhelming and uncertain, and he focuses on helping patients establish stability, strengthen coping strategies, and reconnect with supportive routines and relationships. His approach emphasizes consistency, compassion, and skill-building to help patients move forward with a renewed sense of hope and direction. His therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and experiences. James incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to help patients better manage emotions, improve self-awareness, and develop healthier thought patterns. He has experience supporting adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, military/veterans, and individuals with autism spectrum disorders. He also offers support for additional mental health concerns and life challenges. Outside of his clinical work, James enjoys staying active through working out, skiing, hiking, camping, and water sports. He also enjoys reading, watching documentaries, and spending time playing video, card, and board games. These interests reflect his appreciation for balance, curiosity, and meaningful connection both inside and outside of therapy.

James Zoeller provides services with supervision.
