About Charity Mathews (She/Her)
Charity Mathews, LCSW-Associate, helps children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults navigate emotional challenges, strengthen relationships, and build practical skills for lasting mental wellness. As a provisionally licensed clinician with LifeStance Health, she provides therapy for individuals and couples throughout North Carolina, offering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals. Her practice frequently supports individuals facing anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also addressing a wide range of additional mental health concerns. A particular passion of Charity’s work is helping adults who are living with the effects of childhood abuse or trauma. She understands how early life experiences can continue to influence self-esteem, relationships, emotional regulation, and overall well-being long into adulthood. Through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic process, she helps clients process difficult experiences, develop resilience, and create healthier patterns that support meaningful personal growth. She also works with individuals experiencing PTSD and trauma-related challenges, as well as those managing anxiety and depression linked to past experiences. Charity believes effective therapy should combine clinical expertise with genuine human connection. She utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Her training supports her ability to work with clients across the lifespan while delivering thoughtful, individualized care. Outside of her professional work, Charity enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and golfing.
Charity Mathews provides services with supervision.
