Margaret Kennedy, LAPC,
About Margaret Kennedy (She/Her)
If you are looking for a therapist who can help you navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and evidence-based care, Margaret Kennedy at LifeStance Health provides individual therapy for adults and older adults throughout Pennsylvania. She works collaboratively with clients to better understand the patterns, experiences, and emotions that shape their lives, helping them build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful change. Margaret supports individuals managing anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, as well as a wide range of additional mental health concerns. A central focus of Margaret’s work is attachment-based, trauma-informed psychotherapy. She is passionate about helping clients understand how early relationships and life experiences can influence emotional well-being, self-worth, and connections with others. Through a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship, she helps clients explore the roots of longstanding patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and the people around them. Her work emphasizes healing, self-awareness, and lasting growth rather than simply managing symptoms. Margaret also helps clients navigate life transitions, grief, and substance use challenges while providing support for many other emotional and behavioral health concerns. She utilizes evidence-based interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while incorporating mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. She has experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, military veterans, and first responders, and she welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. As a counselor associate, Margaret believes that therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected. Her approach balances clinical expertise with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity. She is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe exploring difficult topics while building practical tools for everyday life. Margaret earned her education from Drexel University and Northwestern University and began practicing in 2025. Outside of her clinical work, Margaret finds joy in spending time with her children, playing softball, hiking, walking, practicing yoga, and being outdoors whenever possible. A former chef, she enjoys cooking for family and friends and values the creativity and connection that food can bring. She also enjoys reading, movies, television, comedy, podcasts, and spending time with animals, especially cats. Her upbringing in Vermont helped foster a lifelong appreciation for nature, balance, and meaningful connection.
