Jay Semmons helps adolescents, teens, and adults throughout Washington navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based mental health care. As a provisionally licensed social worker at LifeStance Health, Jay provides individual therapy for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, and substance use concerns. Jay is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients, particularly youth and teens exploring identity, self-acceptance, and belonging, while also creating an affirming space for queer adults navigating relationships, stress, and personal growth. Jay works with teens, young adults, and adults using a collaborative and supportive approach tailored to each person’s goals and experiences. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, and exposure therapy, Jay helps clients strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier patterns in daily life. Jay also has experience supporting individuals with childhood behavior concerns, PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, and alcohol or drug use issues. In addition to working with LGBTQ+ individuals, Jay has experience supporting clients within the adoption and foster care community as well as individuals on the autism spectrum. Jay believes therapy should be a space where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to move forward at their own pace. By combining clinical expertise with warmth and genuine curiosity, Jay creates a therapeutic environment where clients can safely explore challenges, process emotions, and develop meaningful change. Outside of clinical work, Jay enjoys tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, video games, music, travel, and spending quality time with loved ones. These interests help foster creativity, connection, and balance, which Jay believes are important components of overall mental wellness.

Jay Semmons provides services with supervision.
