“Breaking The Silence Group”
Group Therapy for Teens Who Have Experienced Trauma
Group Focus:
During this group therapy, participants can lean on peer support while exploring their various types of trauma triggers, such as visual, tactile, auditory, nasal, word-specific, and situation-specific.
Sessions may include identifying safe coping skills, practicing mindfulness, developing positive relationships, conflict resolution, and more in connection to their trauma triggers.
The group facilitator will review potential group members for suitability and ensure parents or guardians are informed of and give consent to their teen’s participation.
Participants: Teens ages 12 to 17 who have been involved with trauma.
Cost: Insurance and self-pay are accepted in Tennessee

Joy Austin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee who has been practicing since 2018. She earned an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.
