Richard Groll, MSN, PMHNP-BC,
About Richard Groll (He/Him)
Richard Groll is an ANCC board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. He completed his MSN in psychiatric-mental health nursing at Hunter College. He utilizes his up-to-date training and knowledge of treating mental illness in the adult population. During your session Richard will ensure that he is active listening, communicating effectively, and providing you with a patient centered approach to treatment. Richard validates each individual’s experience and has proven to be respectful, punctual, and motivated when assisting individuals in their recovery and restoration of their mental well-being. Richard is a culturally competent individual that provides a unique perspective when it comes to his diagnosis and evaluation of your mental health. During your initial appointment Richard will discuss his findings and evaluation of your symptoms in the context of the DSM-V diagnostic criteria. Depending on co-morbid chronic health conditions or presenting health problems you may require a referral to a Primary Care Physician for a routine physical and labs before starting a medication. You and Richard will create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs to include applicable FDA approved medications and evidence-based treatment options. Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for a run, weightlifting/powerlifting, watching his favorite TV show or movies, BBQing, playing guitar, and playing videogames.
