About Dr. Alissa Borowsky (She/Her)

Dr. Alissa Borowsky, MD, helps adults and older adults throughout Illinois achieve greater stability, wellness, and quality of life through compassionate, individualized psychiatric care. At LifeStance Health, she provides medication management for a wide range of mental health conditions, partnering with patients to develop treatment plans that align with their goals, medical history, and daily life. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, and ADHD, while also offering support for additional mental health concerns. A significant area of Dr. Borowsky’s practice is helping individuals affected by substance use disorders, including Alcohol Use Disorder and Opioid Use Disorder. She understands the complex relationship between mental health and addiction and works closely with patients to support recovery, symptom management, and long-term resilience. Through a respectful and nonjudgmental approach, she helps patients navigate challenges related to substance use while addressing co-occurring mental health conditions that may impact overall well-being. Dr. Borowsky also has experience working with individuals facing gender identity concerns and life transitions across adulthood. She is committed to creating an affirming environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their care. In addition to serving adults from diverse backgrounds, she has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and first responders. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes collaboration, education, and evidence-based psychiatric care tailored to each person’s unique needs. Since beginning her practice in 2022, Dr. Borowsky has remained dedicated to helping patients build meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health. She earned her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her medical training at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Borowsky enjoys spending time with animals, traveling, reading, solving puzzles, practicing Pilates, and hiking. These interests help her maintain balance and bring curiosity and perspective to her work with patients.
