About Sam Ng-Fels (They/Them)
Helping patients find stability, clarity, and renewed confidence in their mental health is at the center of Sam Ng-Fels’s approach to care at LifeStance Health. Serving children, adolescents, teens, adults, and older adults throughout New York, Dr. Ng-Fels provides thoughtful medication management tailored to each individual’s goals, symptoms, and life circumstances. They work collaboratively with patients and families to develop treatment plans that support long-term wellness and improved quality of life. Their clinical interests include ADHD, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders, while also offering care for a wide range of additional mental health concerns. Dr. Ng-Fels is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. They understand that the transition from inpatient care back to everyday life can be challenging and often requires consistent psychiatric follow-up, medication management, and compassionate support. By helping patients navigate this critical period, they focus on promoting stability, reducing the risk of relapse, and building a strong foundation for ongoing recovery. In addition, Dr. Ng-Fels has a special commitment to LGBTQ+ mental health care, including providing letter-writing for medical transition and Gender-Affirmative Medical Readiness Evaluations. They strive to create an affirming and respectful environment where patients feel seen, heard, and supported. Dr. Ng-Fels also works with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and those involved in adoption or foster care systems. Their approach emphasizes individualized, evidence-informed treatment that recognizes the unique strengths and challenges of every patient. As a Medical Doctor and prescriber, Dr. Ng-Fels completed their education at New York University and Thomas Jefferson University. Beginning practice in 2025, they bring a fresh, patient-centered perspective to psychiatric care while remaining focused on building strong therapeutic partnerships. Outside of clinical work, Dr. Ng-Fels enjoys vinyl record collecting, snowboarding, surfing, playing guitar and saxophone, cooking, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, and exploring queer art and culture.
