Dr. Farzana Siddiqui is a clinical psychologist who received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University School of Professional Psychology, Oregon; Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University, Oregon; M.Sc. from Aligarh University, India; B.Sc. from Saugor University, India. Dr. Siddiqui received Outstanding Graduate Award for Academic Excellence upon graduation from Masters in Counseling Psychology at Pacific University and was also a recipient of Service Scholarship for commitment to promoting diversity in school. Dr. Siddiqui has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings including schools and community mental health centers. Theoretical Orientation Dr. Siddiqui’s primary orientation and training experience is Cognitive-Behavioral. Based on this theoretical perspective, when she conceptualizes client concerns, she focuses on the relationship between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions and views these as interrelated phenomena. Although Dr. Siddiqui approaches clinical work from a CBT perspective, her approach is influenced by a variety of theoretical approaches including Behavioral, Group, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Siddiqui views the foundation of therapy as a strong therapeutic alliance that is characterized by empathy, caring, genuine regard, and competence. Her approach to therapy includes a strong emphasis on what presenting concerns are currently distressing the client while also focusing on how past events are impacting the client’s current difficulties. She strives to help facilitate the change in the way clients live and explore new ways of relating to themselves and the world around them. Dr. Siddiqui’s personal and professional experiences have provided her with a framework for understanding diversity and how to provide culturally sensitive services. It is important for her to be responsive and sensitive and have an understanding and knowledge of her clients’ cultures. utilize her past knowledge and work experiences, as well as cultivate new skills and interest. She enjoys spending time with her family, eating healthy, walking, reading, yoga, exercise, and traveling.
