Dr. Lynne Fish is a Psychologist in South Carolina who has been practicing since 1999. She received a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 and already had gained a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since that time, she has sought further trainings in various therapies, such as EMDR, DBT, and hypnosis in order to help people more effectively. Life brings struggles to us all at times; Dr. Fish loves helping people move beyond these and toward a brighter future and is blessed by God to do this work. Dr. Fish strives to be an understanding and nonjudgmental companion in these times, and many clients have expressed this as their experience. Over the years, working in university settings and private practice, she has helped hundreds of people to cope with all kinds of emotional and psychological problems; this gives her great hope for you in a time of difficulty. As a doctoral-level psychologist, Dr, Fish sees people as complex and includes biological, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural aspects in understanding the present. This gives a broad understanding of issues so she can offer new perspectives toward change situated in a mutually respectful, trusting, and collaborative relationship. Over time, Dr. Fish has become proficient in various empirically based therapies which give myriad ways to individually tailor support and challenge in the therapy journey. When requested, she is happy to include your spiritual perspectives and values in your work together. Her reward in this overall process is to see you grow in peace, health, and joy. Dr. Fish enjoys learning about the strengths of clients as well as the adversity they have overcome. She believes in a positive approach to counseling and trying to clarify goals that are important to her clients. Dr. Fish generally employs a semi-structured approach to sessions, meaning she is like a guide taking you where you need to go, but there is also room to explore along the way. Her hope is to help you reach your goals and live the life you desire to live. When not at work, Dr. Fish enjoys reading, making music, doing theater and dance, learning, traveling, and Bible study. She loves spending time with family and is a big college basketball fan.
