About Perlyn Severe (She/Her)

Perlyn Severe, LMFT, helps adults, older adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a practical approach to change. She provides therapy to patients across Delaware, supporting individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, and other emotional concerns. With more than two decades of clinical experience, Perlyn works collaboratively with patients to identify strengths, build resilience, and develop effective strategies for improving mental wellness and everyday functioning. Perlyn is especially passionate about helping individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug use issues. As a Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor, she understands the complex ways substance use can impact relationships, family dynamics, emotional health, and overall quality of life. She creates a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients can address substance-related concerns, strengthen recovery goals, and work toward healthier, more meaningful connections. Her practice also includes treatment for anxiety, depression, and couples’ issues, along with additional areas of focus. Perlyn provides individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals. She incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Couples/Marital Counseling, and Mindfulness techniques to help patients develop insight, improve coping skills, and create lasting positive change. In addition to serving individual adults and older adults, Perlyn has experience working with military veterans, first responders, and women facing a variety of life challenges. She recognizes that every person’s story is unique and strives to provide care that is respectful, culturally aware, and focused on long-term wellness. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time in nature, walking, bike riding, and hiking.
