Dr. Barbara Bernbaum is a Licensed Mental Health counselor who has been practicing since 1984. She graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park Florida with a B.S in Psychology and an M.A in Counseling and Guidance. She received her Ed.D in early and Middle Childhood Development from Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, FL 1989.Barbara believes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a foundation for clinical treatment – to challenge negative anxious thoughts with rational logical thinking, to help develop and implement new alternative productive skill strategies to manage worries and cope with life stressors. Her main areas of focus include Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions and Post-divorce issues. In her spare time Barbara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, making chocolate chip cookies to send to her dearest 4 grandchildren at college. She is also very active in exercising, traveling, socializing with friends, and reading.
