About Shauna Summers (She/Her)

Shauna Summers, LCPC, helps teens, adults, and older adults across Illinois navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns with a thoughtful, practical, and compassionate approach. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy and couples therapy for people seeking support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. Shauna works collaboratively with each client to create a treatment plan that reflects their goals, strengths, and unique life experiences. One area of particular passion for Shauna is working with individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She understands that the transition from inpatient care back into daily life can be overwhelming and often requires ongoing support, structure, and encouragement. Shauna helps clients build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop strategies that promote long-term stability and recovery while reducing the risk of future crises. Shauna also has extensive experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while offering additional expertise in concerns such as grief, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, sleep difficulties, and family dynamics. She works with a diverse range of clients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and utilizes evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also offers additional therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Known for creating a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, Shauna empowers clients to gain insight, build healthier patterns, and move toward meaningful change. Whether someone is struggling with persistent symptoms, adjusting to a major life transition, or seeking to strengthen relationships, she strives to help clients feel heard, understood, and equipped for growth. Outside of her work, Shauna enjoys making art, exploring crafts and DIY projects, gardening, spending time outdoors on walks, and sharing meaningful moments with family, friends, and her cats. Shauna earned her education through Illinois State University and Bradley University and brings a strong foundation of clinical knowledge to her work with clients throughout Illinois.
