She has an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Southern Maine, an M.Ed. in Special Education from Plymouth State University, and a B.S. in Special Needs Services from Granite State College (UNH). Deb provides a trauma informed, strength based, and solution focused approach. She specializes in treating older teens and adults whose daily functioning is being interrupted by anxiety, depression, grief, major life changes, and unexpected challenges. Deb has an extensive background in crisis work and more acute care and believes that counseling interventions and the use of effective coping strategies and problem-solving skills can be instrumental in preventing worsening mental health symptoms. Deb supports clients in developing attainable goals for treatment that promote improved mood and daily functioning. She encourages clients to incorporate physical, mental, and emotional practice into their routine to contribute to their overall wellbeing. Deb utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in implementing change in their lives. Outside of work, Deb enjoys walking, biking, hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
