Shelby Jutras is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance misuse disorders, autism and ADD/ADHD. Shelby received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Mental Health Focus from Plymouth State University prior to earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of New England. In addition to holding a clinical social work license, she is also a certified alcohol and drug counselor. Shelby accepts patients from pediatric, adult and geriatric populations and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, ARC, TF-CBT and Play Therapy. She first began working with children and families of Southern Maine in 2014, and has since gained extensive experience working in community mental health programs, school systems and hospitals. Shelby has also been an active coalition member, run intensive outpatient programs, treated refugee and vulnerable populations, and has acted as an advocate for children with IEP/504 plans. Outside of her clinical practice, Shelby is a certified yoga instructor and reiki practitioner. She values a holistic approach to treating trauma and enjoys learning/ encouraging others to explore various forms of healing modalities. In sessions, she supports people with developing a mind-body connection through breathwork, movement and Somatic Experiencing. Shelby supports each individual with their own specific needs by creating a safe environment to explore. In Shelby’s free time she enjoys connecting to nature with her family, making plant medicine, exploring local restaurants and practicing yoga.
