Cheri Gieski, LMFT
Specializes In:
Cheri Gieski, LMFT, helps adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and connection while providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for patients across Minnesota. She works with young adults, adults, and older adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, or other emotional and behavioral challenges. Cheri creates a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Cheri is especially passionate about helping individuals and families address ADHD, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. She understands how these concerns can affect daily functioning, self-esteem, communication, and overall well-being. Through a thoughtful and collaborative approach, she helps clients develop practical skills, strengthen relationships, and build greater confidence in navigating life’s demands. With experience providing individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, Cheri tailors treatment to each client’s unique goals and circumstances. Her clinical approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples and marital counseling, mindfulness-based strategies, and family therapy techniques. In addition to her primary areas of focus, she supports clients facing grief, trauma, depression, midlife and later-life transitions, and other mental health concerns. Cheri welcomes and affirms individuals from diverse backgrounds and has experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as adults across many stages of life. She believes that effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2015, Cheri has been dedicated to helping clients gain insight, improve emotional wellness, and create lasting positive change. Her educational background includes training at Adler Graduate School and Wheaton College, which helped shape her holistic and relational approach to care. Outside of her professional work, Cheri enjoys creative writing, watching football, spending time near the water, relaxing around a fire on a crisp fall evening, and taking long walks with her rescue dog, Lolli.
