Mary Ann Gonzalez, LICSW, helps adults and older adults across Minnesota navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for each person’s unique experiences. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy for those seeking support with anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, as well as a range of additional mental health concerns. She creates a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their concerns, build resilience, and develop meaningful strategies for lasting emotional well-being. Mary Ann is especially passionate about helping individuals facing eating disorders and substance use challenges. She understands that these concerns often intersect with self-esteem, relationships, emotional regulation, and life stressors. Drawing from a person-centered and relational approach, she works collaboratively with clients to uncover underlying patterns, strengthen coping skills, and support sustainable recovery. She is committed to helping clients develop a healthier relationship with themselves while making progress toward their personal goals. Her therapeutic style combines evidence-based treatment with genuine human connection. Mary Ann incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, or other concerns, she tailors treatment to meet their specific needs and strengths. She also has experience supporting individuals through later-life transitions, midlife changes, and a variety of additional mental health challenges. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2018, Mary Ann has remained dedicated to helping clients create meaningful and lasting change. She earned her education from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and St. Catherine University, where she developed the foundation for her thoughtful and evidence-based approach to therapy. Outside of her professional work, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her two children, gardening, and canoeing in the Boundary Waters. These activities help her stay connected to nature, balance, and the values that inform her therapeutic perspective.
